I usually couldn't care less about the Oscars, but Slumdog baby Slumdog, so let's make picks. Oh by the way, if you know where to look, feel free to use these picks as gambling advice. But bear in mind that most of these are complete guesses since some categories contain only movies that I haven't seen.

As you properly indicated in this post, The Dark Knight was the best movie of the year. Unfortunately, it was not nominated, and therefore the award will go to the "what have you done for me lately" academy's choice, which is going to be the good-but-not-great Slumdog Millionaire. So you had to cross out your pick, purely for the sake of predicting, even though you know (as do I) that TDK is in fact the best movie of 2008.
